Donna Jean Dreisbach, age 86 of Portage, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Aspirus Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. Donna was born on September 9, 1938 in Chicago to Michael and Lillian (Glasscock) Kubica and an older sister to Carole and Sandra. Donna graduated from high school where she excelled in sports and art, receiving numerous awards and was offered acceptance to the Art Institute of Chicago. Donna also had a lifelong love of horses.

Raymond Dreisbach, age 85 passed away surrounded by his loving family in his daughter’s home on January 16, 2020. He was born in Wiesbaden, Germany to Frank and Marta Dreisbach and was the younger brother to Frank Jr. Raymond survived WWII as a child and at the of 17 emigrated by ship (USS United States) to America where he learned the language, became a citizen and served in the US Army. 

Donna met the love of her life, Raymond, while working as a salesclerk at Roeser’s bakery in Chicago where he worked as a baker. They were married on November 3, 1956 and were blessed with five children. Donna worked for Motorola as an international parts sales representative servicing Africa, Australia, and New Zealand while Ray worked as a driver for Standard Oil.

They fulfilled each other’s dreams of Raymond owning his own plane (he named “Schatzy”-sweetheart in German for Donna) and Donna horses, and enjoyed their farmette in the country for retirement.

A life filled with laughter, family, friends, memorable trips out west and always each other by their side…..they were a constant example and reminder of what true love is.

Donna and Raymond are survived by five children: Debbie (Joe) Bondi of Montello, Jimmy (Maria) of Prophetstown, IL, Jeff of Mount Carol, IL, Susie (Tom) Presley of Florence, MS and Danny (Laura) of Elgin, IL as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Donna is survived by her sister, Carole Fricano and they are also survived by other extended family members.

Donna and Raymond are preceded in death by their parents, Raymond’s brother, Frank (Hilde) Dreisbach as well as Donna’s sister, Sandra (Jack) Klobertanz, nephew, Phillip Fricano, brothers-in-law, Phil Fricano and Ronnie Ward.

A memorial service for both Donna and Raymond Dreisbach will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the hour of service. Pastor KwangYu Lee will preside and private inurnment will take place at a later date at the Sheffield Cemetery in Sheffield, Illinois.
