Donald Mueller

Donald W. Mueller, age 94 of Montello passed away Monday evening, December 21, 2015 at The Pavilion at Glacier Valley in Slinger. Don was born in Milwaukee to Alfred and Vella (Wright) Mueller on May 11, 1921. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during World War II. He married Iris Vasey in Mason City, Iowa on July 16, 1949 and together they lived and worked in the West Allis area until moving to Montello in 1986.
Donald was a machinist by trade and everyone who knew him will remember his ability to build almost anything. He was proud to have built his own home on Lake Puckaway with only the help of family and friends. Don was very musically gifted, especially playing the piano and harmonica. He enjoyed boating, traveling to Florida for the winter and playing bocce ball. Don was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Montello. He will be greatly missed. Don leaves behind his wife of 66 years, Iris and three children: Mary Juszczak of Hawaii, Carol (Mark) Hrenak of Juneau and Mike of West Bend as well as six grandchildren: Jaime (Roy), Danae, Josie, Donovan, Erica and Stephenie. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Kyle, Skylar, Destiny and Daylehn as well as sister-in-law, Agnes Coralline, brother-in-law, Walter (Pat) Vasey and many nieces, nephews and friends. Don is preceded in death by his parents, and three siblings: Voyle, Louise and Esther. A funeral service for Donald will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Montello. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Pastor Jeff Radley will officiate and immediately following the service, military honors will be performed by American Legion Post 351 of Montello. Following the traditional service, Don will be cremated and inurned at Valhalla Cemetery, Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the family for a memorial that is being established in Don's name.
