Donald Raymond Miller, age 78 of Delafield passed away Wednesday morning, March 2, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Donald was born in Portage to Roy and Laura (Sandow) Miller on May 17, 1937. He attended the Diamond School in rural Adams County and furthered his education at Waukesha Technical School. Donald married Barbara Lentz at the First Presbyterian Church in Oxford on December 23, 1961 and together were blessed with one daughter. He worked as an overhead crane operator for Babcock&Wilcox for almost 30 years, followed by 12 years at Retzer Nature Center. In Don's younger days he enjoyed skating, bowling, square dancing and fishing. His retirement years were spent taking walks, building puzzles and watching Westerns with his wife. He stayed busy nurturing his dog, teasing his great grandchildren, and working in the yard. Donald was a member of Calvary Bible Church in West Allis where he enjoyed studying God's Word and praising his Lord and Savior.
Donald leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Barbara, daughter, Twyla (Robert) Diehl both of Delafield, three grandchildren: Jedidiah (Calaya), Jacob (Shea), Leah and eight great-grandchildren: Jedidiah, Jackson, Alexis, Eric, Caden, Ella, Amelia and Elijah. He is also survived by his brother, Dean (Betty) of Milwaukee and sisters: Doreen of Adams and Delpha of Minnesota. Donald is further survived by extended family members and friends and is preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service led by Pastor Henry Stenzel will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Oxford Village Cemetery. An additional memorial service will be held at a later date in Delafield. Crawford Funeral and Cremation Service of Oxford and Montello is assisting the family with arrangements. www.CrawfordFH.com
