Dilene Koch

Dilene "Yavonne" Koch, age 87 of Montello (formerly of Madison and Waupun) passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Yavonne was born in Wauwautosa on March 25, 1930 and raised by her maternal grandparents, Jay and Lulu Murrey. She graduated from Madison West High School in 1948 and married Robert Hudel Koch on September 10, 1949. Together they were blessed with five children; Bob preceded Yavonne in death in 1995. Yavonne worked for several hospitals as nurse's assistant, ending her career as she started it at University of Wisconsin Hospitals. She enjoyed reading, crafting and pet cats. After retiring, she volunteered at Union Congregational Church in Waupun on various committees and also with the Ladies Auxiliary at Waupun Memorial Hospital. Yavonne is survived by five children: Deborah (Leonard "Charlie") Schrank of Neshkoro, Thomas of Randolph, Donald (Patricia) of Deforest, Robin Koch of Oregon and Cheryl Koch of Waupun as well as six grandchildren: Matthew, Jonathon, Benjamin (Julie), Nicholas, Lauren (Chris) and Jill (Douglas). She is also survived by her half-sister, Mary (Gene) Zienty and step-siblings: Norma (John) Yeager and Joseph Schmitz as well as other extended family members and friends. Yavonne is preceded in death by her mother, Eunice Murrey Schmitz, grandparents and her husband. A memorial service for Dilene Yavonne Koch will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of service. Pastor Mike Vargo will preside and private family inurnment will take place at a later date at Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to an organization of your choice in memory of Yavonne.
