Dianne Smith

Dianne Marie Smith, age 74 of Oxford passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Friday, February 14, 2025 at her home. Dianne was born on June 11, 1950 in Wausau to Lawrence and Cecilia (Busco) Lepak. Dianne spent several years helping her family at their resort in Minocqua, ultimately settling in Portage where she met Glenn Smith. The two were united in marriage on August 22, 1992 and made Oxford their permanent home just four years ago.

Dianne had several careers throughout her life. Some of her hobbies included ceramics as well as painting and she was always busy caring for her yard. Dianne was an avid fisherwoman and took great pride in introducing Glenn to muskie fishing. She will be remembered for her love of nature and her thoughtful personality.

Dianne leaves behind her husband of 32 years, Glenn and one daughter, Adaenna (Mark) Mikle of Oxford as well as grandchildren: Jacob and Chelsey. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Chase, Chance, Lea and Tucker along with three siblings: Darlene (Lyle) Hotchkiss, Randy (Jennifer) Lepak and Larry Lepak. Dianne is further survived by her mother-in-law, Marilyn “Bobby” Smith, nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Dianne is preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Casey Mazur.

A memorial service for Dianne Smith will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until the hour of service. Rev. Mike Vargo will preside and inurnment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in memory of Dianne.
