Delores Mateske

Delores Edith Mateske, age 81, of Montello passed away Saturday evening September 11, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Delores was born in Montello to Edwin and Clara (Walters) Schultz on June 15, 1929. She attended Montello High School and married Robert Mateske on September 30, 1950 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Montello. Delores was a very caring person and loved her family very much. She was a lifelong resident of Montello as well as a life member of St. John's Lutheran Church. She will always be remembered for her wonderful cooking, her love for gardening and her willingness to help others. She leaves behind her husband of almost 60 years, two children: Robert (Gail) Jr. of Lake Mills and Carol (Rev. John) Dolan of Eden Prairie, MN. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Adam Mateske, Sarah (Rev. Kurt) Schaser, Paul (fianci�½e Amy) Mateske, Amelia Dolan, Rev. Aaron Dolan, Jeffery (Andrea) Dolan, and Kathryn Dolan. She is further survived by great-grandchildren: Ian and Isaiah Schaser, as well as a niece, a nephew and many cousins. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Pastor R. F. Westendorf will officiate and burial will follow the service at the Eastside Cemetery in Montello. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
