Debra Walters

Debra “Deb” K. Walters, age 58 of Oxford passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison with her sister by her side. Deb was born on September 24, 1965 in Portage to Edmund and Judith (Maier) Walters. She graduated from Westfield High School in 1983 and was employed at WPS in Madison for many years. Deb’s greatest joy was spending time with her granddaughter, Annabelle and she always looked forward to the next garage sale and her next OB’s Club meeting. She was a very caring person and an advocate for the less fortunate. Though Deb could come across as brash at times, she will be remembered for her big heart and compassionate ways. 

Deb is survived by her father, Edmund “Ed” Walters of Oxford and daughter, Melinda Walters of Portage as well as her very special granddaughter, Annabelle. She is also survived by her siblings: Mike Walters and Kris (fiancé, Mat Riesselmann) Walters both of Oxford as well as many other extended family members.

Deb is preceded in death by her mother, Judith.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Debra Walters will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Briggsville. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass. Father Savio Yerasani will preside and inurnment will immediately follow the service in the parish cemetery. 

The family would like to thank a special friend, Nikki Zajicek for all her care and support during Deb’s illness.
