Dean Kortenhoven

Dean A. Kortenhoven, age 54 of Harrisville/Montello passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday evening, June 10, 2014 at his home. Dean was born in Illinois on July 6, 1959 the son of Nicholas and Johanna (Beenes) Kortenhoven. He earned a degree from ITT Technical College and worked for GE Medical for 25 years as an IT manager and most recently for EuroPlast in Endeavor. Dean married Ingrid Wysznewskij on September 25, 1999 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montello where the two are members.

Dean was an avid reader as well as a respected free-lance writing critic of computer video games. He loved to spread the word of the Lord; as an elder and Evangelism Committee member at his church. Dean was an avid member of the Jeep Club and also enjoyed cooking and baking. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and being at home watching nature. Dean is survived by his wife, Ingrid and sister, Bonnie (Greg) Fischer of Naperville, IL and aunt, Betty Beenes of Lansing, IL. He is also survived by three nieces.

Dean is preceded in death by his parents and step-son, Garrett G. Butler. A memorial service for Dean will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montello. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service. Reverend Pete Zietlow will preside and inurnment will follow the service at the Sheldon Cemetery, town of Harris. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
