David Dean Sytsma, age 59, of Packwaukee passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 8, 2010. He was born on November 26, 1950 in Jasper County, Indiana to John and Jeanette (Ooms) Sytsma. He retired to Packwaukee in 2007 after being a brick layer for 37 years. Dave was a devoted, loving family man and an avid basketball fan, especially for his beloved Purdue Boilermakers. He enjoyed the outdoors; fishing and hunting whenever possible. Survivors include: his wife, Diana (nee LaCosse), six children: Sherri (Jerry) Smith, Charlotte (Rick) Manns, Jeffrey (Rose Marie), David (Kelly), Tony (Sarah) Row, and Kerri Bates. Dave is further survived by fourteen grandchildren: Briar, Cooper, Denver, Ryder, Nathan, Aniyah, Felicia, Cody, Chloe, Quintin, Krista, Taylor, Abby and Dominique as well as two brothers: Don (Marcia) and John (Karen). Dave is preceded in death by his parents. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 11th at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Rev. Robert Bruinooge will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Funeral services will also be held in DeMotte, IN at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Jackson Funeral Home, 200 3rd Street SW, DeMotte, IN 46310. Burial will follow at the Holland Cemetery in DeMotte, IN. In leiu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Purdue University.
