David Olson

David Anton Olson , age 77 of Oxford passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 15, 2021 at his home.  David was born in Waukesha on February 18, 1943 to Anton and Ella (Ingalls) Olson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Audrey and brothers: Wesley and Donald Olson. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 23 years, Marilynn (Jungenberg) in September of 2016.

He is survived by his sisters: Sherry (Mark) Jacobi of Big Bend and Sandra McDonald of Friendship as well as many nieces and nephews. David is further survived by Marilynn’s children and grandchildren who he treated as his own: Kristi (Jerry) Lund of Grand Marsh and Randall (Lauren Taft) Heinemeier of Oxford, Keegan, Reece and Landry, Quinton, Samantha (Andrew) and Miranda as well as the son he never had, Tommy (Tina) Olson

He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marines.  After returning from his time in service, David worked in construction and later as a greeter for many years at Bellin hospital in Green Bay.

David was proud of his service to his country. He was thrilled to be able to go on an Honor Flight to Washington DC on May 18, 2019. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his blended families.

A public visitation for David Olson will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Oxford.  Visitation will also be held on Saturday morning from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.  Masks and social distancing are required.  Due to the current pandemic, private memorial services will follow the visitation.  David will be inurned at the Oxford Village Cemetery with full military honors.  In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Badger Honor Flight, PO Box 258066, Madison, WI 53725.
