Charles Roskie

Charles Richardson Roskie, age 101 of Montello passed away Friday, January 3, 2025 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Janesville. Charles was born at home in Montello on September 20, 1923 to Charles and Bird (Richardson) Roskie. He graduated from Montello High School in 1942. With his father passing at an early age, Charles became a farmer to take care of his family. He farmed his entire life until retirement. He enjoyed reading, history, bird watching as well as gardening. Charles married the love of his life, Pauline on May 15, 1993, and together they enjoyed many adventurous happy times together. Pauline preceded Charles in death on May 6, 2015.

Charles is survived by his children: Wayne (Joan) Morris of Brainerd, MN, Jayne (Roger) Trapp of Albany and Rosamund Joyce (Mel) Curtiss of Germantown. He is also survived by two grandsons: Cody (Amber) Kargus and Paul (Heather) Curtiss, six great-grandchildren and several extended family members. Charles is further survived by dear friends: Don Roidt and Bob and Lynn Ziarek and their children. 

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sisters: Marion Roskie and Doris Roskie.

Honoring Charles's wishes, private services will be held. He will be laid to rest next to Pauline in Montello City Cemetery.
