Charles “Chuck” Farley Newport, age 87 of Montello passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024 at his home with his wife and daughter by his side. Chuck was born on June 26, 1937 to Franklin and Marian (Collins) Newport in Chicago, IL. He graduated from St. Leo’s Catholic High School in Chicago. Chuck was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. He married Gail Bisaga and became father to her two daughters. Chuck and Gail moved to Montello in 1993; Gail preceded Charles in death on August 17, 2011. He found love again, marrying Yvonne Fish on May 30, 2017. Chuck and Yvonne treasured their time together.
After discharge, Chuck joined London International, a vending company. This employment required time spent in England and Australia. He particularly enjoyed Australia. Later he established his own vending business, National Safety Ltd. Chuck earned his pilot’s license and spent many happy hours flying. He was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing whenever possible.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Yvonne Fish, daughter, Jodi (Robert) Ott, and Yvonne’s children: Michelle (Bruce) Eades, Melanie (Fritz) Mochel and Michael (Betty Allen) Fish. He is also survived by grandsons: Ryan and Eric Ott, other grands and his nephew, Jack (Teri McMichael) Crummie.
Chuck is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gail, daughter, Kathleen O’Leary and sister, Marion Crummie.
A private celebration of life for Chuck will be held at a later date.
