Barbara Ward

Barbara Frances Ward, age 83 of Montello passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Omro Care Center in Omro.  Barb was born at home in rural Stevens Point to Harry and Esther (Meronk) Kluck on September 13, 1937.  After graduating from high school, she married Harvey Ward on October 30, 1973; together they were blessed with one daughter.  Harvey preceded Barb in death in 1983.

In Barb’s early years, she was a competitive archer and also enjoyed bowling.  She was an avid gardener, baker and spent many hours painting ceramics.  Barb filled her time recently with stamp and coin collecting as well as cross-stitching.  She worked as the secretary at several of the local Catholic Churches, maintaining her membership at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello.  Barb was also employed by Marquette County in the Green Thumb Program for several years.  She will be remembered for her thoughtful and considerate personality.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Matthew) Barton of Montello and step-daughter, Sharon Martin of Jacksonville, Florida.  She is also survived by several step-grandchildren and two brothers: George (Pat) Kluck and Joe (Janis) Kluck as well as other extended family members.

Barb is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two step-sons: Mike Ward and Mark Ward and brother, Karl Kluck.

A public visitation for Barbara Ward will be held on Friday, October 23, 2020 from 9:30 until 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Montello.  A private Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation.  Father Savio Yerasani will preside and burial will take place at 2:00 PM on Friday at the Greenwood Cemetery in Reedsburg.
