Barbara Rowe

Barbara Jean Rowe, age 90 of Oshkosh (formerly of Montello) passed away Monday, January 13, 2025 at Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh. Barb was born in Bessemer, Michigan to Carl and Ella (Habeck) Olson on February 3, 1934. She graduated from A.D. Johnson High School in Bessemer in 1952 and furthered her education at St. Olaf College and received her masters degree in music education from UW-Whitewater. Barb married Rev. Marvin Rowe on July 9, 1960 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Ironwood; he preceded her in death on August 21, 2021.

Barb was a grade school music teacher for many years and was involved musically in the churches that Marv served. She and Marvin retired and moved to their home on White Lake in the early 1990s. In 2010, they relocated to Evergreen Retirement Community in Oshkosh; they made special friends and enjoyed many activities. From early on Marv and Barb shared a passion for music. They enjoyed years of travel and felt very blessed to continue to enjoy some very special friendships along the way. 

Barbara is survived by her three children: David (Jill Lass) of Elkhorn, Janet (Mark Steffen) Mueller of Montello and William (Doreen) of Minooka, IL as well as six grandchildren: Sarah (Jessy) Senft, Michael (Kelsey) Mueller, Ryan (Danielle Kolman) Mueller, Megan Mueller, Karin (Tony) Black and Aiden Rowe. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: Ava, Finley, Emersyn, Eloise, Drew, Aubrey and Will. She is also survived by her brother, David (Carol) Olson along with several other extended family members.

A funeral service for Barbara Rowe will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, W3032 Fern Drive, Montello, WI. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the hour of service. Burial will follow at the Montello City Cemetery.
