Barbara Frohling

Barbara Jean Frohling, age 76, of Montello passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday evening, August 3, 2012. God called her home after an eleven year courageous battle with cancer. Barb was born in Chicago on June 19, 1936 to Harold and Winifred (O'Shea) Wood. She married Jerry Frohling in South Elgin, IL on April 15, 1967 and after working as a printing inspector for Diamond International, Inc. for over thirty years they permanently retired to the Montello area in 1990. Together Barb and Jerry traveled extensively throughout the United States. She volunteered her time to the Marquette County Care and Share Food Bank, Montello Senior Center as well as the Guardian Angels. Barb also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed spending time outside doing yard work and taking care of her home. The Montello Rotary Club selected her and her husband as citizens of the year a few years back. Barb was a member of the Marquette Strings that won the State Volunteer Award and in 2005 she was selected by WISC TV3 as a Hometown Hero. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Barb is survived by her husband, Jerry of 45 years and siblings: Flora Martin of Kaneville, IL, Hazel (Al) Chmielewski of Montello, Joan Baugher of South Haven, MS, Robert Wood of Lombard, IL, Francis Wood of Arizona and Diane Wood of Montello. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Barb is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Raymond Wood and a sister, Nancy Wood. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Crawford Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Rudesill presiding. Visitation will held from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Guardian Angel Fund, 480 Underwood Avenue, Montello, WI 53949.
