Barbara Ann Dahlke, age 79 of Westfield passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, September 1, 2014 at her home. Barbara was born in Neshkoro on July 4, 1935 to Ben and Elizabeth (Mahar) Kasubaski. She graduated from Westfield High School in 1953 and furthered her education at Saint Agnus School of Nursing (now Marion College) in Fond du Lac. Barbara married Dennis Dahlke in East Dubuque, Iowa on October 1, 1960 and together they moved back to Westfield to raise their three children.
In 1998, Barbara retired from Divine Savior Hospital in Portage after a 32 year career as a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed life: she motorcycled, gardened and knitted countless clothing items for those in need. Barbara was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church serving on several committees and the Ladies Aid. In her retirement, she continued to care for people volunteering at Divine Savior but more importantly spending time with her children and grandchildren who meant so much to her. Barbara leaves behind her husband, Dennis of 53 years and three children: Brenda (Michael Craig) Dahlke, Rhonda Dahlke and Dennis "Telly" (Christine) all of Westfield as well as four grandchildren: Kyle, Carl (Ashley), Sara and Anna. She is further survived by eight siblings: Delores, Charles (Dorothy), Sandy (Dale), Jane Ann (Guy), Donald (Beverly), Robert (Pat), Clarence (Jane) and Jack (Kathy) as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Ben and Jimmy. A funeral service for Barbara Dahlke will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Westfield. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the church. Pastor Frank Giebel will preside and burial will follow the service at Westfield East Cemetery.
