Andrew Polk

Andrew Arthur Polk, age 36, of Montello passed away on Friday June 4, 2010 as a result of a tractor accident. He was born on April 11, 1974 in Portage to Art and Barb (Baker) Polk. Raised in Montello, he graduated from Montello High School in 1993 and graduated from Ripon College in 1997. He had an immense love for teaching and shortly after graduating from Ripon he began teaching for the Westfield School District where he has remained for the past 12 years. On July 29, 2006 he married Nicole Schmidt in Bemidji, MN. Other than teaching math and science, Andy enjoyed hunting, cooking, spending time with family and friends and being a husband and father. He will always be remembered for his smile and upbeat personality. He will be greatly missed. Andy leaves behind: his wife Nicole and daughter Shaelynn, parents, Art (Barb) Polk of Montello, Nicole's parents, Roger (JoAnn) Schmidt of Westfield. Andy is also survived by brother, Matt (Jen) of Lake Mary, FL and sisters, Gretchen (Dennis) Keane of Naperville, IL and Rachel (Rob) Gilles of Athens, WI as well as sister-in-law, Tami Jo (Robin) Cook of Edina, MN. Andy is further survived by grandmother-in-law, Sally Becker, seven nieces and nephews, Dominic, Krisalyn, Ryan, Samantha, Maizie, Teagan and Lukas as well as many cousins, friends and other relatives. Preceding Andy in death are his grandparents, Herbert Baker and Arthur and Clara Polk as well as brother-in-law, Timothy Schmidt. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in the Westfield High School Gymnasium. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service. Rev. Tom Countryman will officiate. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. Following Andy's wishes, after the tradition service he will be cremated.
